These are not what we expected !? [UCL Quarter-Finals 1st leg] [Review]

With the 1st leg of quarter-finals finished we have the results of the matches and they are absolutely a shocker ! Yep ! This is not what we expected for sure,of course this year has been full of unexpected warped-bombs,So further to do lets have a look at the results !


Results :

BARCELONA Vs ATLETICO

BAYERN Vs BENFICA

Before starting a FACT "This was Pep-Guardiola's 150th game as Bayern Boss and 114th win with them",So now,Bayern all most controlled the whole match I should say because they were always in the head of Benfica's defenders and they had many chances which were all missed or saved by the goal-keeper !

And this match was a shocker because this match was a cat-on-wall state since Bayern only scored one goal which came from Vidal who scored a early header in the 2nd-min,This match went in the unexpected way because we always expect Bayern to score atleast more than 2 goals against teams like Benfica,But OH BOY we are wrong because its football and football is always like having 2 brains at the same time,we never know what happens ! Anyway as far the match is concerned Bayern won the match with a 1-Goal lead which is not at all helpful for them in the 2nd-leg.

WOLFSBURG Vs REAL MADRID 

Okay now maybe this match is the reason for the title of the post/article,So first let us see what the "RMA Boss" Zidane said "That's football - that's how difficult it is. That's what happens when you don't play with intensity from the start. We have to rest and think about the return leg because we still have the chance to change everything."

So yea Real-Madrid lost to Wolfsburg which was totally not expected and we have to admit that RM played poor in the match which costed the result.

Let us have a look what the happy-faced Wolfsburg manager said "I was laughed at when I said that we may have a chance. Real had their opportunities early on and we were a bit lucky,We pulled together, we found the spaces and played very well. Now we will go to Madrid, knowing that we have a chance to advance."

And once again Ronaldo failed to shine in this match too,which is also considered as one of the reasons for the loss by the fans.

PSG Vs MAN CITY

This was the one and only match which kept us at the edge of our seats because both the sides played with all the power they had and when we thought we had a winner the match ended in a draw by the deflected goal by Fernandhino(Man City).

And you have to praise Joe hart for saving 2 consecutive penalties which was offered to PSG,if he didn't save those the match would have ended with a huge score-line.

The goal from Kevin de Bruyne gave Man City the lead after Joe Hart saved Ibrahimovic's penalty,Zlatan took advantage on Fernando's mistake to equalise and Adrien Rabiot scored in the second half to put PSG in front.

So yea these are the results of the 1st leg of the UCL quarter-finals and this is still not finished yet there is another leg to decide who is going in for the semi-finals and after that we will have our winners to face in the semi-finals !!

David Luiz to PSG - What happened to the deal?!!

David Luiz's Career

David Luiz is a Brazilian international who started his club career from 2006 in a brazilian club named Vitoria.He then joined Benfica on 2007. Attracted by his impressive performances he was bought by Chelsea for a fee of 25 million Euros with a five and a half year contract on 2011.

The clubs that approached David Luiz ?

FC Barcelona : At First David Luiz was rumoured to join FC Barcelona for a fee of 34.5 million euros but the Chelsea disagreed.To know why Chelsea disagreed click here.

Manchester United : Then it was rumoured that he was about to join Manchester United.As both clubs are the rivals they disagreed the rumour.

Bayern Munich : Then it was Bayern Munich who submitted a bid during the winter transfer window this season with a fee of 35 million pounds but the bid was rejected.The talks were not confirmed but this rumour was denied as Bayern has 4 quality center backs.

Paris Saint-German : At last Paris Saint-German came forward sealed the deal with 49.5 million Euros!!!

Why did Barcelona show interest on David Luiz?

Barcelona hardly needed a defender because Puyol,the legendary defender of FCB is gonna be retired.During winter transfer window Barcelona confirmed its talks about David Luiz for the replacement for Puyol.As Jose Mourinho disagreed to the deal during the winter transfer window,Barcelona again submitted a bid to Chelsea for Luiz with a fee of 34.5 million. But PSG grabbed him with a huge deal of 49.5 million euros.Now the latest rumour is Barcelona is going for a huge deal with Borussia Dortmund which is a combination transfer of the center Back Mats Hummels and the Left Midfielder Marco Reus for a fee of 80 million euros. But the talks were not confirmed yet.

Why did PSG buy David Luiz?

Paris Saint-German lacked quality defenders Thiago Silva is exception  and also they are too old like Maxwell.So they needed to find a new one.At first It was rumoured that PSG placed a bid for Mats Hummels of Borussia Dortmund for a fee of 35 million but it wasn't confirmed.When Barcelona were about to grab David Luiz from Chelsea PSG intervened and snatched him from Barcelona.

What were the plans of David Luiz?

David Luiz was interested in joining a new club since his last season due to the appointment of the new manager Jose Mourinho.David Luiz in a Personal interview said that he was eager to join new clubs in other countries which attracted the interest of other clubs like Barcelona,PSG and so on. Finally PSG grabbed him David Luiz was delighted to move as he wished.

Is this a right move for Chelsea?

No its not a very good move for Chelsea. David Luiz was one of the finest Defenders of Chelsea but now Cahill is the only defender in Chelsea witha good form.Terry is in bad shape and he is too aged.Also the loss of a legendary midfielder Frank Lampard who joined New York club in MLS as a free agent is a terrible blow to Chelsea.Everyone says that Mourinho has put chelsea in a bad condition but we think that he has other plans lets wait and see that.

Not a very good season but a good season.Being a defender he has scored many goals which was not a easy task to any defender in Football.This defender supports attack whenever needed and has a great heading ability.

German Cup Finals - Preview

       Here we are at the final stages of different competitions and it's the German Cup that we are gonna discuss now !! The cup winner is gonna be decided by today's match - Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund. Since this is the last competitive match for both the sides this year, this is gonna be an exciting match to watch !!

Their season so far..

        Both the teams have had a decent season so far. Bayern has already clinched the Bundesliga title comfortably but progressed only until the Semis in Champions League. Dortmund finished runners up in the Bundesliga and progressed until the Quater-finals of Champions League. In a fact, both the teams were kicked out by Real Madrid. 

         In the Cup, both the teams have progressed comfortably so far and the real struggle is now for both the teams !!

Recent Form :

        Borsussia Dortmund is in a fine form winning 8 of it's previous 10 fixtures. They are also well prepared with their dangerous conter attack comprising Reus and Lewandowski, who have performed well recently, to get the desired effect.

        Bayern Munich have also won eight of their last 12 matches in all sort of competitions. They maintain the possession well and could score goals from any side.

Head-to-head :

       The same fixture was played two years back (in the german cup finals) with Dortmund winning over their competitors 5-2. 

       The latest fixture between these two sides resulted in a 3-0 victory for Dortmund. In overall, Bayern has won 12 games and Dortmund 10 with 6 games ending in a draw !!

Key Points before heading into the match :

• Thiago is injured for Bayern and Ribery , Schweinsteiger are doubtful
• Dortmund miss services of Blaszczykowski and Subotic due to knee injury 
• This is the last match that Robert Lewandowski will be playing in the yellow kit before moving to Bayern
• This match will bring out whether counter attack could play good over possession

Predictions :

      This match has a lot to speak about. But first, the most dangerous thing for Dortmund is to maintain their opposition's wingers. They are  quality lads and could open chances or opt to go by themselves. On the other hand,the same threat is made by Rues. So the full backs of both the sides need to provide a quality display if they have any chances of winning. Both the teams midfield has enough creators and maintainers, so it will be tough for the opponents to break through !! The attackers of both the teams are prolific and has the ability to give a goal whenever they need so the centre backs have a lot to do.  

     But the tactics of both the teams are different and could determine the result. Bayern have recently fallen to the quick counter attacks (against Real Madrid) and unable to prevent the opposition from scoring. Though the Bayern team has an advantage over Dortmund it's Dortmund's tactic that has a slight edge over Bayern !!

    So this match has a lot to show and could be well entertaining. A efficient manager could only do the job and take away the cup today. Today's result is in the hands of their managers !!!

Marco Rues transfer news-Where is he destined to shine??

Well the season is about to end and the transfer window even though does not start officially till July most teams are keen to finish most deals  before the world cup begins.There are many rumors about Big players leaving their current clubs and one of the main man in these rumors is Marco Rues.

Marco Rues is a German footballer who currently plays for Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund.He has impressed many people and football fans with his speed,agility,technique.He has become a star and key player in Dormund's and Germany line up in the recent years.But as all players shine at their clubs now Rues is faced with the difficult question after Gotze left for Rivals Bayern and Lewandowski is due to join them in the summer ...DOES HE MOVE ON FROM DORTMUND??

Rues at Dortmund this season

Rues has been excellent this season and as the stats show he has scored 16 goals and assisted 13 in his 30 league starts.He has started in 9 Champions League  games and has scored 5 and assised 3 goals in them.This is excellent stats as he mainly plays as a winger  on the left side.Rues , Lewandowski  and Gotze are the reason of Dortmund' success in recent years

Possible Transfers for Rues 

The main reason these rumors started circulating was because Rues refused to answer all questions about his contract.But he did mention "EVERY PLAYER ONLY HAS ONE CAREER AND I WILL MAKE THE BEST OUT OF MINE".This has sparked rumors that Rues wants to move to a bigger club filled with fame and glory.

Manchester United

Manchester United are very keen on signing Marco Rues.They have sent scouts to watch him several times and also rumors indicate have held talks with his agent too. So United have also looking to make a overhaul of the entire squad and he is considered their prime target.He sure will get a first team place as United do not have any quality wingers.He sure will fit in the team due their conter attacking and pace play but the move depends on two questions here -Will Rues be content without a champions league spot?? and Will Man United pay more the other competitors?? If the answer to both is Yes then we may very well see him in United next season

Barcelona

Barcelona have joined the race for Rues late.They first seemed to have no interest in him but now they are one of the pole contenders to sign him.Barcelona may very well pay above the competitors but the question is "WILL HE ADAPT TO BARCA'S STYLE??".In dortmund he is used to fast pacy counter attacks,long balls etc.. Whereas in barca he would have to suit to slow passing game they play.If he does move and does not suit in then it would be waste of money for barca and waste of time for Rues.If he decides that Barca is his choice he better be ready to adapt to their style and forget all pacy counters.

Real Madrid 

This is tough decision for Rues to make as if he joins he will have to compete with Ronaldo and Bale two world class players for a spot in the team.Most likely Di Maria will be sold if Rues arrives but still if he is not then he is not sure of any game time.He will suit in well due to their counter attacking play and also likely will be paid high and also they will pay a hefty fee for him but GAME TIME is what is in the question now.

Bayern

At first everyone thought they would buy Rues also when  they bought Gotze and Lewandowski but Rues made a bold statement that Bayern will not have him at any price whatsoever.So this move has become a highly unlikely one.

So this transfer window Rues will have to make some hard decisions on his future.Will he make the right one for his future???....We will be bringing more news when we sniff them so stay tuned with us...

And this match was a pretty unpredictable one because these sides were equally powerful and were certain in the results on thier personal league's.So As expected this match ended in a draw as "0-0" with the injury of the main goal-keeper and the defender "Cech and Terry".

And this one was not a usual one because both the sides were equally powerful,But this match was a different one from the "Atletico-Chelsea" match because that was unpredictable but this was a predictable one since the German side was considered to be a more powerful one than any other teams in the world,But the Madarista's broke the spellings about the team by winning the 1st leg as "1-0" with Benzema scoring !!!

Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich - Champions League Semi Finals - Preview

      Hey There !! We are heading towards the end of the season and it's getting more and more exciting !! With just four teams remaining in the competition the amount of curiosity has extended to an incredible level !! The Champions League draw that took place on 11th of April resulted in Bayern and Real Madrid going head to head in the Semis !! Let's talk on some points before getting into the match ....

Their road to Semi-finals :

 Real Madrid 

      Group Stage :                                          

    Real Madrid got placed second in the La Liga last year , hence they were directly qualified for the Champions League. They were grouped with Juventus,Galatasaray and  FC Kobenhavn which they cleared with ease. Their group standings stands as follows :

      Round of 16 :

       In the Round of 16 they were drawed against FC Schalke which looked like a twisted fixture but they thrashed Schalke. The aggregate standing 9-2 speaks the rest.

    Quarter Finals :

           In the Quarter finals they played against Borussia Dortmund which was never an easy task. Last year they were knocked out by the same team in the Semis and so they wanted to take revenge. Ofcourse they did, but only in the first leg.

  They performed great in the first leg in the absence of Lewandowski but in the second leg without Ronaldo in their side they couldn't do what they wanted. Reus was too good for Madrid to manage and he scored two goals, but unfortunate to Dortmund they couldn't score one more goal to equalise. And (with a sign of relief) they are into the Semis !!

        In the group stage they were grouped with Manchester City, CSKA Moskva and          FC Viktoria Plzen. City was only a difficult team to get past but others were so easy.

 They played against Arsenal at this Round and got through with the aggregate 3-1. The first round looked like a contest of missing penalties. Bayern beat the ten man Arsenal 2-0. In the second leg they held Arsenal for 1-1 and went into the Quarter finals.

    In the Quarter Finals, they played against Manchester United in which they won fighting. ManUtd played well in the first leg and managed to draw. Schweinsteiger was sent off in the first leg and United looked to threaten them at some times but Bayern got the better of them. In both the matches they came from behind to score goals. They beat ManUtd

The draw is a boost for all football fans because every one were expecting these two giants to go head to head this will be one of the most anticipated matches. The whole world is waiting for this epic match to get kick-off.

 Previous meeting :

       The last meeting between the two teams was too on the Semi-finals of this competition in the year 2012 where Bayern Munich got the better of Madrid. They beat Madrid 3-1 in penalties. 

What would happen this time ?

        When comparing their form and the squad strength and the availability of players Real Madrid have a slight advantage over their opponents. But we must never under estimate the power of Pep and his men, maybe they are trying to play some mind games over their rivals. 

        The Real Madrid forwards, commonly called BBC(Bale,Benzema,Ronaldo) are the most dangerous players for Bayern to watch out for and they are well assisted by Di Maria, Modric and Alonso. The defence looks strong but it's their only weakness because they can't manage the pace of Robben and Ribery. The GoalKeeper position is in no trouble for Real Madrid.

              Talking about Bayern, though they look to be in out of form they can do the best and edge their opponents. The attack with Robben, Ribery, Muller, Kross and Mandzukic looks threatening but at the back their defenders are not at their best. As we know their performance is also not that great to that of previous years. With the recent injury of Neuer it is never sure whether he would play or not.
