Liverpool's Title hopes are over ? - What caused the great slip ?

    The Barclays Premier League is at its end stage with just a single game in the hands of every team. This season was just great with the title race still intact but the most probable title winner is Manchester City.  But this was not the situation a few days back, when they cruising towards the top of the table. Now the situation has changed and here comes the reason behind it ....

What made them look strong at the beginning ,

      From the start of the season they dominated the attack well and goals were coming fast together with their attack trio Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling. Their new signing Coutinho with his creative mind helped them a lot in the attack. The goals were coming fast together. Their victories against Tottenham(4-0) , Cardiff (6-3) , Arsenal (5-1) and Everton(4-0) clearly shows how dominant they were in the attack. They mostly got onto the attack with their dangerous long balls and their pacey attackers were well enough to chase that down and put it into the net. Suarez was too hard to control as everything he hits went into the net.

What resulted in the slip ,

       When they looked so much dominant and confident of winning the league, then came the problem of Sturridge's injury. He got a hamstring problem but most of them thought that it would be quite right without him. It looked liked that but no, really they were missing him on that Chelsea game. His pace and physical strength would have helped them a lot. In his absence,they had to find Suarez to score the net. But it was easy for the defenders to not give him any space in any situation. It made Gerrard to take some long shots that was comfortable to save. 

       Coming towards the tactic, Liverpool are team that use pace and get immediately behind the opposition defence line as soon as they gain possession. But some managers were clever enough to crack the tactic by giving them the possession all time and just defending in the box, so that the reds were waiting and waiting for the opposition to make them come front and find the path in the heart of the defence. But they couldn't and the quick counter attack by the opposition cost them the game !!

Because of their defeat to Chelsea, their title dream was like a cat on the wall. They needed more goal difference than their competitor Man. City, hence they followed very attacking football. They got their result by scoring 3 goals against Crystal Palace but they were hungry for more and kept on attacking. This created a lot of space in the defence and the Eagles used these spaces well and scalped three goals to earn a draw. Liverpool must have settled after scoring three goals which was a decent score and their jealousy nature resulted in the surrender of their Title.

             Still it's not completely over for Liverpool. There is a chance, that is if they win against Newcastle and hoping for Man. City to lose to West Ham United. They should never let their confidence down and fight with their sportsman ship hoping luck to be on their side. The fans must be proud on how they have performed this season and looking forward towards next years European Competion and hoping for the best next season !!
