At-last it's time for the last four and it's not going to be easy,now in this post we will be giving you a detailed preview of tonight's match and in the end of the post we will be revealing our prediction of who is going to win the match !

Now in order to breakdown we have to overlook the stats of the 1st leg,so here it is.

Now by seeing the stats we can surely say that PSG controlled the match more than Man.city

Now we will look into the individual sides of the teams and the 1st leg playing-style 


MANCHESTER CITY : 

So now let us first discuss about the recent form of Man.City and then go deep.

So as you can see they are not in a very good shape,with only 2 wins in the last 5 matches they seem to be fragile,and surely by their standards this is worst.

FACTOR 1

An important factor is Vincent Kompany's injury ! Yes the manager told the press that the Belgium defender will not be playing in the 2nd leg of the quarter finals,Without Kompany the team is too insecure at the back.This can be a major drawback for tonight's match.

FACTOR 2

Man city has a advantage over the match since they played away and scored 2 goals against the French giants last match,All they have to do is maintain a 0-0 or a 1-1 scoreline in the 2nd leg and BOOM they are into the semi-finals !

"BUT" 

Pellegrini told "I think the most important aspect of this team is always to score. We are working here for three years and I always have the same answer.We are a team that is prepared to score goals. If we prepare to play 0-0 I think we lose. You see the same team you see the last two and a half seasons." 

Thus "Man.City" are not playing safe,which may end in tragedy.


PARIS-SAINTS GERMAN :

This match has a lot of background story and effect on it than most people think.Leicester have won their match against Sunderland 2-0 so the pressure is on Tottenham to win to keep their title hopes going. Manchester United on the other hand have to win this in order to their top 4 hopes going thus the title of this post.

2 MINS : The possession has been dominated by Tottenham and their attacking intent is shown early as they try to attack as much as possible . 


               4 MINS : Manchester United win some free kicks in their half after finally getting some possession back.Lingard and Schneiderlien combine to set martial on a run but the shot gets blocked and rebounds for a goal kick. 

     7 MINS : Mata takes a free kick on the left side of the box . The ball is floated in to Martial at the far post who pulls it back in but spurs counter from it . Mata tracks back to defend well.

10 MINS : United get some passes together to get Fosu Mensah on a run but the shot gets blocked for a corner.

13 MINS : The United players are pressing well and maintaining width in their play and not giving tottenham possession of the ball.They look the more dangerous team in the pitch

15 MINS : United now attacking with the possession . Tottenham look sluggish and foul trying to get the ball back.

16 MINS : Tottenham win a corner and Eriksen rolls it to Danny Rose on the edge of the six yard box which gets to Harry kane whose shot gets saved by De Gea but it would have not counted any way as Kane was offside.

18 MINS : Tottenham have some possession but let off the steam due to a poor shot at the wrong time.Shame the attack ended that way .

22 MINS : United get the ball back thanks to some wonderful interceptions by Schneiderlien and now they attack and win some corners but that does not lead to anything .

26 MINS : Tottenham regain the ball and Danny Rose does a wonderful switch to Walker on the right who passes it to eriksen who takes a shot from out of the box but it does not curve back in .

27 MINS : Lamela forces a cross in and the de gea punch goes straight to kane but Fosu mensah dives in and gets the ball.The next cross and sends lamela 1 v 1 on the far post but he misses it ! 

29 MINS : Kyle Walker tears Rojo apart on the right side and sends in a cross to kane who was waiting to tap it home but Fosu Mensah saves the day again with a wonderful interception. 

Tottenham have finally got into their stride and are slowly starting to dominate the match.

33 MINS : Tottenham keep up the tempo and press harder to regain the ball when they lose it. Fosu Mensah again prevents a cross.He's been superb so far .

 STAT - Tottenham have won just 3 of their 23 matches at home against United.

37 MINS : Lamela provides a long ball to Rose who chases it down before drifting in a cross but blind does his job and defends it. 

40 MINS : Martial gets to a promising position by intercepting a ball played back to the keeper but gets flagged for offside but turns out the ball came back of walker so martial should not be flagged for offside there.Wrong call by the linesman. 

 Mata has had to a lot of defending to keep track of the Danny Rose Threat and has done well so far.But it seems better if Lingard does that while mata focuses on getting the ball forward...Will need to see if Van Gaal changes those two up in half time.

44 MINS : Smalling fouls kane in the right of the box . Eriksen floats a good ball in but it just evades Alli inside the box but it is seen that martial did take a small touch while trying to defend it but the referee does not spot it and gives a goal kick. 

HALF TIME - Score 0-0

Tottenham have had that one clear chance which lamela missed a easy header.United are yet to have such a clear cut chance.Been a average half and needs to improve if some one wants it to win . Stay tuned for the second half .

46 MINS : Young is starting to play in the middle of the park . Looks like a direct switch for Rashford. Really surprised by this move by Van Gaal. 

49 MINS : Spurs trying again to get Danny Rose through but and almost do it but Smalling gets across and clears. Mata is not going to win a race again Rose so that needs to be sorted ! 

51 MINS : Eriksen cuts back a ball from the left but it gets blocked and he goes direct from the rebound but that gets parried by De Gea . 

United need to start attacking from the right hand side and get Mata involved... They are being too predictable trying to get Martial on the ball too often.. Mata has been doing a lot of defending but no attacking play.

54 MINS : Harry kane gets the ball outside the box and protects it well before unleashing a turning shot trying to bend it into the far post but it goes straight into De Gea.

57 MINS : Midfield battles going on with both teams losing and gaining the ball back and forth but not anything game changing happening 

                                                           

59 MINS : Lingard trying the same thing kane tried but from inside the box but failing to hit the target by miles. Poor effort by the young lad.

60 MINS : Martial skips past 2 Tottenham players into the box from the left and shoots it but it goes straight at Lloris who parries it into Martial again who cant target the header into the goal as he was running into the ball quick. Should have scored there from the first hit after doing so well to create the chance.

62 MINS : Play held up for a few minutes as Manchester United's Fosu Mensah is down injured . He seems to be back ok after a while and some treatment. 

65 MINS : A powerful cross from Danny Rose takes a small deflection but De Gea saves it with his feet.

Rojo's terrible form continues .. He is the man who was marking alderwield for the second goal but he lets him get a easy header off .... Very poor for a Manchester United player ..

These are not what we expected !? [UCL Quarter-Finals 1st leg] [Review]

With the 1st leg of quarter-finals finished we have the results of the matches and they are absolutely a shocker ! Yep ! This is not what we expected for sure,of course this year has been full of unexpected warped-bombs,So further to do lets have a look at the results !


Results :

BARCELONA Vs ATLETICO 

 This match was absolutely awesome,both the sides played very well ,but its football thus we have a winner ! and as we already discussed about this match briefly in this article/post - CLICK HERE TO VIEW POST we move to the next match !

BAYERN Vs BENFICA

Before starting a FACT "This was Pep-Guardiola's 150th game as Bayern Boss and 114th win with them",So now,Bayern all most controlled the whole match I should say because they were always in the head of Benfica's defenders and they had many chances which were all missed or saved by the goal-keeper !

And this match was a shocker because this match was a cat-on-wall state since Bayern only scored one goal which came from Vidal who scored a early header in the 2nd-min,This match went in the unexpected way because we always expect Bayern to score atleast more than 2 goals against teams like Benfica,But OH BOY we are wrong because its football and football is always like having 2 brains at the same time,we never know what happens ! Anyway as far the match is concerned Bayern won the match with a 1-Goal lead which is not at all helpful for them in the 2nd-leg.

WOLFSBURG Vs REAL MADRID 

Okay now maybe this match is the reason for the title of the post/article,So first let us see what the "RMA Boss" Zidane said "That's football - that's how difficult it is. That's what happens when you don't play with intensity from the start. We have to rest and think about the return leg because we still have the chance to change everything."

So yea Real-Madrid lost to Wolfsburg which was totally not expected and we have to admit that RM played poor in the match which costed the result.

Let us have a look what the happy-faced Wolfsburg manager said "I was laughed at when I said that we may have a chance. Real had their opportunities early on and we were a bit lucky,We pulled together, we found the spaces and played very well. Now we will go to Madrid, knowing that we have a chance to advance."

And once again Ronaldo failed to shine in this match too,which is also considered as one of the reasons for the loss by the fans.

PSG Vs MAN CITY

This was the one and only match which kept us at the edge of our seats because both the sides played with all the power they had and when we thought we had a winner the match ended in a draw by the deflected goal by Fernandhino(Man City).

And you have to praise Joe hart for saving 2 consecutive penalties which was offered to PSG,if he didn't save those the match would have ended with a huge score-line.

The goal from Kevin de Bruyne gave Man City the lead after Joe Hart saved Ibrahimovic's penalty,Zlatan took advantage on Fernando's mistake to equalise and Adrien Rabiot scored in the second half to put PSG in front.

So yea these are the results of the 1st leg of the UCL quarter-finals and this is still not finished yet there is another leg to decide who is going in for the semi-finals and after that we will have our winners to face in the semi-finals !!

Premier league followers know very well the battle for the 4 th position is even closer and fiercely competed than the title this season due to Leicester City's fairytale and also due to Arsenal the fourth position champions being ahead in the table ! The German Coach has picked his best possible strong 23 man squad for this world cup.The team has a good blend of youth and experience in it.The good news for the manager here is that mostly of his players have been so good this season this will surely give him a selection headache when he picks his final 11 to face opposition in every match.But it also give him a lot of flexibility to change his tactics and formation and also not be worried of any over using of players as he has a deep squad covering every position .

The Goal Keepers

Germany surely have this one covered as they have the world's best goalkeeper NEUER.The defence surely will confident that even though they are beaten Neuer still can stop the ball from entering his net.But the concern here is that he has been untested this season.The domination of Bayern in possession has led to the opposition never getting the ball enough to test Neuer.This may not be the case here for Neuer as the world cup demands more attacking from other teams too.So he better be alert to stop some rockets!! They also have a able deputy's in Weidenfeller and zieler as they both have the talent to perform well if they are to replace Neuer.

THE DEFENCE

The defence of germany is not the strongest but still can stop any attack in its day.The Right back role is surely for Lahm.Eventhough he has converted to CDM in the recent times for Bayern the Germany manager will be keen on using him as a RB for the national team.The CB position has a lot of people fighting for spots in Mertesacker,Hummels Boateng and Howdes . The manager  will be looking to test them in the friendlies but giving them a chance to cement the place in the starting line up.The reason I mentioned they are not the strongest here is because of the Left Back position.Eric Durm has been performing for Dortmund and the exclusion of Schmelzer is a brave one,can Durm fill that void ?

THE MIDFIELD

The midfield is the strongest position for Germany as they have also so many talented players in the role.The arguably have the best midfield in the entire world cup this year even better than Spain.The good thing for them here is that most of the players are young with so much energy and talent to offer.They will be hungry to serve their team.The players that will be picked here are not sure at all as there are so many quality talents and some may miss out on some games.They have good stable players in the form of Schweinstager,kroos,and creative talents like Ozil,Muller,Drazler etc..The only garunteed starters here are Schweinsteiger and Rues and the others have to be on the top of the game to cement their place here.

THE ATTACKERS

The only main area of concern is the attack for Germany.They only have 1 main forward in their whole squad in the name of Klose.But Germany also have Podolski,Schurrle and Muller who can play in that role if the need arises.So it's the managers choice on how to fill this position.

Predicted Starting Eleven

The Germans are expected to go with their default 4-2-3-1 formation in this World Cup.The Goal keeper undoubtedly is Neuer.The best back four are Lahm and Durm occupying the Full back roles with Hummels and Boetang in the Centre Back Positions.The Combination of Schweinsteiger and Kroos and has been brilliant for Bayern and Germany too will be keen to follow the same.The attacking wingers are Muller and Rues and the Number 10 Role will be given to Ozil due to his incredible playmaking skill and lone striker upfront is expected to be Klose.

THE HEAD COACH and his tactics 

The head coach of the Germany National Team is Joachim Low.On 13 July 2006, following Klinsmann's decision to not renew his contract, Löw was named as the new head coach of Germany. Löw obtained a contract for two years and announced that he wanted to continue in the philosophy developed with Klinsmann to stick with that evolution towards a more offensive style. This footballing philosopher has had a particular obsession with the amount of time his players hold on to the ball before passing. During his tenure, he has reduced this time significantly, increasing the pace of the German game.This is the tactic his follows.

He has a good 54.5 % ratio,drawing 21.3%,and losing 24.3 % respectively.So he will be determined to lead his team to glory this World Cup.

Germany and World Cup

Germany have won the competition 3 times and have finished as Runner's up 4 times.In the last 2 world cups they have come third.But they have not won a major trophy since 1996 . Something they will be keen to correct this time .

Group G

Well its looks like Group G for Germany as they are clear favourites to go through finishing in the first place unless Portugal can somehow better them but this seems unlikely .
