Hey there !! Here we are at the start of a historic tournament and yeah, it's the 'WORLD CUP' I am speaking about ... Winning the World Cup is not such an easy thing and every football player would love to gain this cup for his country. So lets take a look on the team, that has the chances the lifting the cup !!!
They are grouped with Netherland , Chile and Australia in Group B where the Dutch are the only team proving to be challenging for Spain. But unlike other competitions they will play against each teams only once so they should be careful and should not even lose a point !!

Well, talking about Spain they are the defending Champions and they have also won EURO Cup after the World Cup which gives them a very good form but however they were not able to win the Confederations Cup last year in the same Brazilian soil .... It has given them the desire to win it this time. Since we are talking about the preview towards their campaign it would be nice to start with their squad !!

The squad has many powerful players and many battling for their position and it is balanced a bit now with the emergence of Diego Costa. The main players who were left out are Negredo and Navas. After a long time, they are going in without the service of Puyol. But however the main threat is the injury of Costa. He was included in the final list but there were no clear reports on his recovery. If he remains injured, they have to depend on Villa or Fabregas has to play in that position !!
THE DRIVING FORCE :
Vicente del Bosque, is not only a manager but also player's favourite. He owns the fame of winning two world cups(the highest in international level). Under his management, Spain has lost only three matches(at competitive level). He adopted the Barcelona's possession kind of play for his side !!
THE POWER OF THE SQUAD :
The manager has a lot of players to choose from, with the given squad. Since we are discussing about Spain, Am not giving the player based description because it is no matter of consideration when every player has to fit into the tactic.
Based upon their tactical consideration they are having a strong defence with those figures of Ramos and Pique who could break any quick counter attacks. They could also well use the crossing ability of the wingers to make the most of it !!
Their midfield is the heart of their gameplay and they have the best players who fit perfectly in it. They are the kind of players who could feed the attackers and also could go for themselves. They have Busquets as a deep midfielder to hold the opposition attack. The playmakers and perfect passers Xavi, Iniesta and Xabi Alonso could well frustrate and exhaust the opponents. Their midfield is also well filled with creative minds in the form of Mata, Silva and Cazorla. Wah ! What a competition in the midfield !!
The attack of Spain is decent but, maybe not the best attack ofcourse, but could convert goals at many occasions. The new talisman Costa has a lot to prove this World Cup and with his last World Cup David Villa should mark his foot marks firmly. Torres has to prove back in the coulour of red once again. So the attack is ready with a lot of enthusiasm and spirit !!
HOW THE GAME WILL BE PLAYED :
As I said earlier, they follow a possession kind of play. Some teams can't find success with this but Spain, they have clearly understood the depth and play neatly. Recently we have seen some teams fail with this mantra, but Spain has one exception from them. They have creative players who could turn every single opportunity into a possible goal. So the passers have to wait for opportunity. The defect in this kind of play is the opposition's quick counter attack. With Ramos and Pique and Casillas guarding the post, they could prevent their chances !!

Well, it's getting a bit long here. So let's come to the conclusion. Spain has a decent chance of winning and their could dream for sure. But as Pique stated in his recent press conference victory could be for any side and there are many competitive teams like Germany, Brazil, Argentina and so on... And the question is "WILL THEY MAKE IT?" and the answer is "OFCOURSE THEY WILL" but on the hall of fame (winning the world cup) or on the wall of shame(failing again on the Brazilian soil). So only the "it" matters !!!
