Moyes SACKED - The reason behind it

The shock news coming out the English Giants Manchester United is that DAVID MOYES has been sacked and GIGGS will be appointed  as the interim manager until the end of the season while united continue to search for a successor. This was so unlike United as they gave him a 6 year deal and also backed him and told him to concentrate on long term deals. Lets have a look at why he was sacked and also the reasons that pressured United to fire him......

The reasons to why he was fired:

Poor results

He started the season on a good note winning 2 matches. But Moyes had it(sacking) coming with the results he was achieving and also the way the team played in those losses. They lost the match without any fighting spirit and also gave up far too easily.Well lets have look at the records broken by moyes at his first season at the club.

When i meant records i did not mean the positive ones as u can see clearly as there are no positive records to show under moyes!! He did have some inspired games but there was no continuity to that run. They have the worst home record in a decade and also the teams now have lost the fear factor coming into Old Trafford .

Team selection

Even now i think Moyes does not have a clue of which is his best team! He has played 51 different lineups in 51 matches meaning that there was not a single game where the team played unchanged from the previous games. This always renders the way and not allows the team to carry their form forward. While he may argue that injuries played a part he had a squad which had depth and also he had enough backup to start the same eleven. He often started the wrong players like cleverly and young who really are not talented enough for this and also he benched kagawa, nani, januzaj far too often which led to many disappointing results

Tactics

About this matter,This is a difficult one to talk about because Manchester United mainly had NO DEFAULT TACTIC THEY FOLLOWED !! At the first half of the season we can clearly see that the tactic was to get balls into the box and head home.Manchester united have attempted more crosses this season than any other team.I use the word attempted because those crosses most often ended in failures. With United struggling in the wings without a good winger this was a idiotic tactic to follow by moyes. He realized this too late and after that united mostly had no tactic !! He kept on changing them and this resulted in defeats and confusion among the players!!The main tactic he followed next was to keep on passing the ball and wait for the precise opportunity and also to keep possession of the ball, this resulted in the players not shooting the ball at all!! They were waiting for a clear chance which near came because united lack the players to deliver the killer ball and if they do deliver it the strikers mess it up!If united had taken on shots who knows they might have had some great goals to show!

A example to his faltering tactics is shown below

In this above picture we can see that Rafeal has just gained the possession of the ball and looks to start a counter attack he looks to find the nearest player who is 50 yards away!! What happens next is that he goes on this own and run those 50 yards and then he loses the ball and all the players have to defend again!! This shows that there is no co ordination and understanding between the players and no one really wants the ball out there anymore!

Formations

He never really found out the best formation to fit in all his best players in their natural roles.Either Kagawa or Mata were forced to play wide and Rooney was played as a main striker in the absence of Van Persie. He should have played 2 men behind the main striker and Nani and Januzaj in the wings and carrick in the center. If he had done this the play would have been smooth and the attacking support would have been perfect but he never really got the idea.

Winning mentality

Moyes clearly lacked the winning mentality and capability to motivate his players. He often gave up on the team and the players. This lead to a negative approach between the players and the manager which is never good.If the players lacked confidence it is the managers job to motivate and get the best out of him but moyes was never really able to do that with anyone.

Approach towards players

Moyes had a strict training program which often made players tired or feel over worked. But he never really had any control a manager should have over his players. The players often openly criticized him openly and releaved to the media that they were not happy with him. This would have never have happened when Sir Alex was the manager as he had full control over his players and never gave in to any demand of his players.

Transfer Blunders

This is the  main reason to why he had a poor season and why he was fired!Moyes in the first summer transfer window went after many players like Fabregas of barcelona,Thiago of Bayern and herrera of Bilbao but the club made a huge mess of these deals and they flopped and moyes went for a panic buy in the form of fellaini for 27.5 million who has not shown any value to his price tag.In the winter window he went after Juan Mata and succeeded in pricing away the spainard from Chelsea for a club record fee.But one has to wonder in the long term Mata has settled in and is contributing with his goals assists key passes but where would we play him? When Van Persie is fully fit and he is back he will be the main striker with rooney behind him mata will be forced to play on the wings where he is not as influential as he is when he plays behind the striker.I mentioned this is one of the main reasons because with the Glazers ready to spend over 150 million to strengthen the squad they would have surely wondered whether Moyes is the right man to entrust the amount with.

The Interim Manager

Manchester United's most decorated player has now been given the job of managing the club for the rest of the season. Will he be able to finish the season on a high note with wins or will the reds continue to lose in this disastrous season. This is the question that is hanging on the minds of the fans.

There are many questions to be answered now.Whether Manchester United can come back strong next season? Who will be the next manager? Will their be any good signings in the transfer window? Will the new manager be successful? Which players will leave united ? For all these questions only TIME has the answer.

So Don't forget to come back to see what we have sniffed and more news about this.Feel free to comment your views on this post.....
