Van Gaal :
Louis Van Gaal emerged as the favourite to be the next Manchester United manager. Van Gaal is a Dutch football manager who currently manages the Dutch International Team. Aged at 62 he has already managed Ajax,Barcelona,AZ and Bayern. He is a promoter of Attacking football and likes to follow the same. But the players often find a hard time to cope up with his tactics but would come out victorious in 2 or 3 seasons. During his manager career, he has managed 780 games out of which he had won 479 games with a winning ratio of 61.41%. Let's look onto his carrer so far ....
AJAX :
He managed Ajax from 1991 to 1997 and had a very successful tenure there. He won the League 3 times and also captured the UEFA Cup and Champions League besides winning many regional trophies. Under his leadership the players were flying high with their form.
BARCELONA :
In 1997 he was appointed as the Barcelona football club's coach. There he won the League championship twice and won the Copa del Ray once during his 3 year time. But when he was there, he clashed with the press and was criticized. The players were unwilling to follow him and it made it difficult for him to implement his ideas on the catalans. He resigned from Barca on 2000. He later joined the club in 2002 but resigned later the same season leaving barcelona just 3 points from relegation.
AZ :
In 2005 he joined AZ and remained there until 2009. He won the Eredivisie once and also finished second and third. After a disappointing season in 2007-08 he planned to go out but decided to stay on the players request.
BAYERN MUNICH :
In 2009 he was appointed as the coach of Bayern. Though they struggled at the start, they managed well under him and were able to capture the title. He found the talisman in Robben , Muller and Badstubber and also converted Schweinsteiger from a winger to a defensive midfielder ( Not sure how he made that ) He missed the treble in the first season as they lost in the finals to Inter. However in the second season he was sacked after losing third place in the Bundesliga.
The manager of Netherland :
He was first appointed as the manager of Netherland in 2000 but he stepped down, failing to qualify for the World Cup. On July 2012 he once again took the role of manager and this time he successfully qualified for the World Cup with 9 wins and one draw.
With his contract with the Netherland expiring after this year's world cup he is expected to join Manchester United. There are various thoughts regarding this move. He is a manager like Mourinho where conflicts follows him wherever he goes. But he is a very successful manager. There are many other managers such as Klopp, Heckins and Pep who were seen as alternate for Moyes but they rejected the offer. So he is the clean favourite to be the United's next manager.
He is a man who could fill the void space left by Moyes. But ,of course it would take time. He should go well with the players. The legacy of Manchester United will be in the hands of this man. With the pressure of millions of fans, he must be able to overcome it. If he takes the job then he could bring success at Manchester United. But whether there would be the same Manchester United that existed is a question mark and only time will answer !!!
