Manchester United have won the first silverware under Moyes reign as they clinched the FA-Community Shield against a distort Wigan who tried hard to make it until this far . Robin Van Persie shined as the hero of the night as he continued his sparkling form with 2 goals !!

Overview :

United had to play without the duties of Rooney and Nani who were injured . And in this match the Goal line Technology was introduced !!!

Manchester played with a new formation and it worked for them well . Having RvP as the main striker and with Zaha and Welbeck supporting in the attack and Giggs helping from the wing with Carrick and Cleverly maintaining the pressure in the midfield , along with the attacking support of Evra and Jones from the defence as Vidic and Smalling checking in the defence they never any opportunities to the opposition and maintained the possesion for the most part of the game .

Even then, Wigan threatened ManUtd on some occasions but lack of co-ordination cost them !! After 25 mins in the first half they looked as if they were gonna comeback but was not the best effort given by them ...

3 min : Impressive dribble from Zaha as he continues his pre-season form and shakes the Wigan's defence !!

7 min : Goal by RvP !! An awesome header from Evra's cross that finds the bottom corner of the net . Excellent control of the header and great outcome !! MAN 1 - 0 WIG

20 min : Wigan looking to come back with the possesion . They are passing the ball well and playing calmly .

34 min : What a chance for McClean !! An excellent chip ball from Cranie that beats Smalling . But McClean fails to deliver as his shot was well wide and went out for a throw in ( Was it actually a shot or a cross )

37 min : Excellent shot from Welbeck . Evra dribbles past Wigan's mid and passes to Cleverly who finds Welbeck . But his shot was saved by Carson .

38 min : Wigan have a free kick in a descent area . But it was a wasted chance as McClean dead ball didn't even beat RvP .

42 min : Another freekick and this time a great chance to score . A great ball from Watson which Boyce couldn't head well and it squeezes past Barnett before getting cleared .

HALF TIME WITH MANCHESTER UNITED 1 - 0 WIGAN

47 min : Wigan are continuing with their good spell .

49 min : Man Utd have a good attack led by Zaha . He passes to Welbeck who finds Cleverly !!! Oh no , the shot was not even on target .

58 min : GOAL !! RvP once Again !!! Gets the ball inthe box and shoots it which gets deflected by Wigan defender and finds the net !!! Man Utd 2-0 Wigan

83 min : Everyone looks at the refree for a penalty for the tackle on Evra . But he gives a corner instead .

90+ min : Kagawa and Januzaj show their skills and try to increase the lead .

94 min : And there goes the refree's whistle !! Full time

Highlight :

It was an impressive performance from the United lads . They looked so distorted and weak in the preseasons . But this match proved the talents of Zaha , Giggs , Evra . Also Valencia with his new No.25 kit had a descent game and looks to be improved !!! With no doubt RvP is hoping to continue with his red hot form !!!

But the match saw some emotional fans expressing to Rooney to stay , but Moyes had nothing to say on him !!

So lets hope them to continue their form and let Wigan have a good season !!!
